And, WOW! You COULD redecorate your house with the many beautiful items at this downsize sale in West Edmond on July 18!!
Here are the UPDATED deets (that’s the hip way of saying ‘details’. We’re nothing if not hip around here).
When: Saturday, July 18 8:00-12:00/12:30-5:00
Where: 2705 NW 153rd St, OKC, OK 73013 (This is a gated community. Gate will open at 7:30. NO TAILGATING. Numbers will be given out at 7:30.)
Now, one-day sales are run a bit differently, as many of you know. For those of you new to a one-day sale, I’ll get you up to speed. We will open for full-price pricing from 8:00-12:00. We will then close at 12:00, shoo everyone out (politely, of course), get our ducks in a row, then reopen from 12:30-5:00 for half-price pricing.
This is a gated community so we are only allowed one day to sell all the wonderful items in this beautiful home. You really don’t want to miss this one. I know I say that all the time, but I really, super, extra mean it this time.
But enough admin, let’s get to the pictures, right?
Nearly all the furniture is in like-new condition.
Lady Americana sofa. Looks like it was just delivered from the store. Feels like a soft cloud. Heaven.
The matching chair and ottoman.
Beautiful entertainment armoire.
Matching corner shelving unit.
Matching sofa table with drawers. Gorgeous.
Stunning leather trunk-style coffee table with a drawer.
The office is full of quality books and vintage treasures!
My client used this radio during the Korean War. A rare piece of history.
Lane Leather loveseat recliner. Perfect for an office!
Five piece Ethan Allen queen bedroom suit.
The luxurious queen bedding that looks wonderful on the Ethan Allen bed!
Speaking of bedroom sets…
Pier One wicker with robin’s egg blue carved wood trim. Sturdy, solid, and the drawers roll like butter. Beautiful condition.
This is the chair that goes with the set…
…this isn’t. But it looks like it does!
Snazzy little secretary. And just look at that adorable matching chair!
Oh, and we have lots and lots of decorative lamps and home decor.
Stunning Pennsylvania House dining room set. Hutch has lots of storage and lighting.
Yes, it’s as comfortable as it looks.
It’s hard to find the perfect bar-height chair. Guess what? We’ve got two.
Set of four skirted parson’s chairs. Like new. You know you want them.
Vintage Elgin rotary sewing machine. Yes it works. Yes, it’s very cool.
This older Maytag duo works like they are a new Maytag duo.
Counter-depth GE side by side refrigerator.
While we’re in the kitchen…
Tucked into that corner is a great set of Dansk dishes.
Now, if you’ll indulge me in a little soap-boxing. It’s high-time we all became just a bit more civilized. And by civilized I mean let’s pull out the good china and fancy stemware and have some people over. To help facilitate this, we have a beautiful collection of crystal, silver plate, decorative glass, stemware, and serving pieces.
Let’s start with an aperitif. The pink and green glasses are from Prague and the green ones are from Italy.
And for the hors d’oeuvres, we have the perfect serving pieces.
And for your guests who enjoy a spot of tea…
…or a coddled egg. Yep, Youtube it. It’s a very civilized way to eat your eggs.
You can serve the main course on this vintage china from the sovereign state of Czechoslovakia. Lovely and unique…
…or on this exquisite Haviland china. It really depends on your mood.
And since you’re bringing out the nice china, you might as well use the silver-plate flatware.
If you are serving wine with dinner, these would be divine.
This stemware is also beautiful. And the candelabras would be a nice touch.
These candelabras deserve a closer look. Beautiful and versatile.
And these salt and pepper shakers are sterling silver with glass inserts. Nothing but the best for us civilized folks.
And these are just plain fun.
If you’re wanting to be classy but still civilized, I suggest these Dansk dishes.
And while we’re on the subject of becoming more civilized, every home needs at least one piece of Lalique crystal. We happen to have three.
We have some beautiful and vintage-classy clothing. From ultra-soft genuine fox fur pieces to these wonderful hats!
Thanks to Kate Middleton, hats are all the rage now.
We have lots of beautiful decor and collector’s items. Including this treasure…
Red Tail Hawk Kuchina doll hand carved by Milton Takala.
Of course we have scads of comfy, cozy linens.
Can you say “goose down”?
This 80+ year old Sun Bonnet Sue quilt needs some TLC, but I know there is a quilt-lover out there who is up to the task. You know who you are.
Another 80+ year old quilt. Love the Dresden plate!
Another vintage quilt along side a hand-crocheted bed cover that was made in the late 1800’s. It is in AMAZING condition!
And we’ve got your bathroom covered. Here’s a small sample:
For your walls…
The picture doesn’t do this clock justice. It’s big.
Handsomely framed and enjoyed by my client, a former member of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
While we are on the subject of baseball, I think it’s time for a little digression. Take a look at this program from the 1942 Yankees vs. Cardinals World Series.
Now take some time to check out the advertisements inside that program. Absolute gold. (Nope, you can’t escape commercials…not even in this blog.)
Yep, the Cardinals were busting on you-know-who.
I know I hate it when my taste gets tired. That’s why there’s chocolate, right?
Smoking for Victory. Careful, buddy, there’s jet fuel in that plane!
Guess you called Philip Morris if you accidentally inhaled.
Budweiser extolling the virtues of beer and better vitamin consumption. Who’d a thought, right?
Speaking of vitamins, the current energy drink fad isn’t new, folks.
And last, but not least. This gem…
Before feminism. That’s all I’m gonna say.
You’ll also find scorecards from the 1950’s.
The ads on the backs of the scorecards just make you feel nostalgic, don’t they?
Another baseball gem, this first edition of The Story of Babe Ruth.
In fabulous condition!
Now, back to our regularly scheduled photo tour…
Of course the garage is full of great holiday decor, electronics, garden gizmos, lawn chairs, tools, and much more. Oh, and another very nice refrigerator. This one is an extra-clean Kitchenaid!
White cabinet is in great shape and perfect for storage.
Last, but not least, toys. Some newer and a lot of vintage. Enjoy!
Raise your hand if you played these as a kid.
Lastly, but not leastly (is that a word?), we have a ViewM-aster…with Star Trek discs.
Beam me up, Scotty.
It also comes with this very handy storage box.
Of course this was just a sample of all the wonderful items in this sale. There is so much more, including nice women’s clothing, shoes, and a genuine fox fur stole.
We’ve given you lots of advanced notice so you can be sure to free up Saturday, July 18th from 8:00-5:00.
We can’t wait to see you!
